Don’t date a girl who reads, she is hard to please…
Chances are she has already fallen in love a million times before. Not with people, but with amazing characters from her favourite books. Competition with those perfectly designed, near ideal, charming heartthrob fictional men is no easy business.
She is the one with a messy bun and oversized sweats. She is the one who can go high on the smell of old books and live on tea for days. She is the one who does not care how she looks. She is the one who does not care what you think of her. She lives not to impress anyone but herself.
Don’t date a girl who reads, she is hard to keep…
She is the one with invisible wings. Her imagination is wild and boundless. She is the one with little needs. She is happy not having expensive clothes or those exorbitant shoes. She is saving every penny to build her dream. So your head turning Benz or the blinding Rolex will not impress her. But an author signed early edition of one of her favourite books, just might.
Don’t date a girl who reads, she is hard to hold back…
She knows exactly what to speak and when. She knows her words. She knows their power. She is steady yet unpredictable. She is the one who boils in rage when you make a bookmark ear with a page and smiles with pride when you call her a nerd.
Don’t date a girl who reads, she is too tough for you…
She is the independent one. She has lived a hundred different lives already and wishes to live a hundred more. She is the one who smiled gleefully when Gilbert [1] finally got her divorce. She is also the one who cried like a baby when Augustus [2] died.
Don’t date a girl who reads, for she has chosen a life of uncertainty. She is not the one to work her mind off to make someone else’s dream come true. She has her own and wishes to strive for it.
She is the one aspiring to become an author and probably has a breakthrough manuscript hidden somewhere in her drawer.
She is the one, who spends her weekend, working harder than on weekdays, because that is the only time she gets to work for her one true love. So forgive her if she does not spend her Friday nights, drinking like a fish and then her Saturday mornings cursing the hangover.
Don’t date a girl who reads, because she dares to dream…
She is the one with a hidden folder in her laptop with itineraries of all the places in the world she wants to see, to make sure the authors from her favourite travel books have done justice to the place.
Don’t date a girl who reads, she has stone walls around her…
She is an introvert and is believed to be incapable of expressing emotions. She is the one who shed tears of joy when Sara and Michael [3] united. She is also the one who felt pain reading Will’s parting letter to Clarke [4].She is the one who can experience feelings passionately and does not wish to be in a relationship for the sake of it.
So, don’t date a girl who reads. Unless you know you can keep up with her. She will choose to be yours not when you are ready to accept her in spite of who she is but because of who she is.
